As we navigate this uncertainty together, as a community first and foremost, one thing has remained certain: It is more important than ever to innovate new ways we can support the members of our communities from the safety of their own homes.

During the last couple of months, Goldfish Swim School has been actively using our virtual means of communicating to provide further support to our communities across the United States! Even during these unprecedented times, drowning prevention remains a top priority, as more than 70 percent of childhood drowning incidents occur at home.

As drowning prevention remains one of our top priorities, Goldfish Swim School got the chance to kick off May as National Water Safety Month with the launch of ‘Goldfish At Home’ by providing free virtual dry-land swim lessons to families nationwide, along with a variety of online and interactive water-safety initiatives and activities. Our goal was and continues to be to make a splash by virtually uniting communities across the globe while spreading the important message of water safety awareness.

When asked about what Goldfish is looking to accomplish during these times, our CEO & Co-Founder Chris McCuiston shared, “Even while our schools are closed, we know there is still so much we can do to ensure more children learn the importance of water safety….as stay-at-home orders continue to extend and social distancing becomes the new norm, we have been working to debut creative ways to connect our communities and stay true to our mission of educating children on water safety while teaching them how to be safer in and around the water. It is our hope all these virtual initiatives help make a true impact.”

In addition to our virtual and free online swimming and water safety lessons, we have been helping parents adjust to this new lifestyle at home. Over the past few months, we have developed and rolled out various at-home activities, like coloring sheets and memory games, for parents to download and enjoy with their kids.

We have also created and shared fun play-time ideas such as practicing swim techniques in the bathtub. Additionally, with the majority of school districts having adjusted to virtual learning, Goldfish Swim School is now offering its free W.A.T.E.R. Safety Presentations virtually.
